MJ worked for more than 10 years in international business development, attracting foreign investments (FDI) to Montreal from the US and Europe. She helped developed financing (venture capital) strategies and headed business development efforts in the US and Europe. She also joined the management team of a California-based biotechnology company that set-up operations in Montreal in the mid-90s.
In 2003, she founded Nuno ID Inc, an economic and business development consulting firm which helps international companies develop the Canadian and Quebec markets. The firm also advises local economic organizations on foreign investments trends and global economic issues.
MJ is also frequently asked to comment on different economic issues in the media (Canal Argent, LCN, Journal Les Affaires, etc.) and has a column (FreedomTalk) in the magazine Canadian Money Saver. She is a follower of the Austrian school of economics; you can follow her comments and articles on her blog www.mj-economics.com.
MJ holds a Bsc in Economics from Université de Montréal and a Master’s degree in public administration from ÉNAP (Montréal).
MJ is an avid equestrian, passionate about classical dressage and has her own horse, the historical “Canadian” breed, which she keeps (20 feet from her office!) on an equestrian farm in Hudson, Quebec.
She is fluent in both French and English.
